Blue Lily Commission incorporates electronic beats, lush pads, flutes, guitars and real ethnic percussion; dance rhythms from the future, instruments from the past.
A contributing musician is Karen Anderson, well known on the San Francisco underground circuit, who provides vocals on three tracks. This music is unlike most modern electronic music in its frequent use of real instruments, all of them played by Steve, giving it a really exotic flavour.

Blue Lily Commission is the solo project of Stephen Palmer. Steve is best known as a science-fiction author, and as the founding member of long-time psychedelic ambient band Mooch. Steve has had six novels published since 1996, and is known for his environmentally aware SF and for his "free-festival" novel Hallucinating, which was a hit amongst Ozric Tentacles fans. Mooch have released five CD's on various labels since 1993;
a new band CD Gaiaspace is due out soon

Mooch have also realeased a new album, the first in a planned series containing remastered versions of music never before released
